Public Health gives update on drug take-back plan

"MOUNT VERNON — Skagit County Public Health shared with the county commissioners Monday more details of a plan for prescription medication return boxes.
An ordinance, introduced Jan. 29, would place secure drop boxes for unused medication at pharmacies, hospitals and other locations throughout the county.
Commissioners will host a public hearing Feb. 21 for the community to weigh in on the plan.

Skagit County launches data website

"MOUNT VERNON — A new Skagit County data website should help local governments craft policy and give businesses valuable information when considering whether to move into the county, said an organizer of the site.
